
Healthy prospects for future growth
Since the last issue was published, BGC has achieved a record turnover of £5 million for the financial year up to last October - a 28 per cent increase on the previous year. All the signs are that growth will continue this year as the company wins significant new contracts in the North West and Midlands.
BGC now has a dedicated ten-strong team working in Liverpool carrying out the installation of gas heating systems under the Warm Front scheme. To support contracts in the North West and to underline our commitment to customers in the region we are looking to set up a new depot there.
The healthy future prospects for BGC are reflected in the rising number of invitations to tender which is keeping our specialist bidding team working flat out. The fact that more and more local authorities, housing associations and large private sector companies are asking us to tender, we believe is a result of BGC´s hard won reputation for value-for-money and quality work.
We have had to win our "spurs" - and key to this has been a business culture which puts customer service at the top of our priorities. To ensure excellence of service is maintained as the business expands, we have invested in BGC´s most precious resource - its employees. Over the six months we have continued to recruit and we currently have a workforce of over 70 operatives.
But, of course, training is not just about apprenticeships and new recruits. We strongly believe in the need for the ongoing training of our experienced staff to keep them up-to-date with technological development and new areas of business such as the installation of solar heating systems.
BGC is developing a specialist team at the forefront of this "green" sustainable energy technology. Demand will undoubtedly mushroom for this type work and we want to make sure we are ready to respond.
We believe BGC´s expansion is built on solid foundations - with a quality workforce and management. We do not rest on our laurels and are fully aware of the need to continue to strive to improve our services to customers, but the hard work of the past years gives us confidence for the future.
